On Wednesday 7 May (10.30-11.30am) our gardener Jackie Hunt will lead our first public tour of Turn End’s garden. Join Jackie for a leisurely stroll to discover plants of interest and explain how she looks after the garden in late spring. Places are limited and tickets cost £8.00. Box Books Creative Workshop
Join our talented and inspiring Artist in Residence, Heather Hunter, on Thursday 15 or Sunday 18 May (10.00am – 4.00pm) for her Box Books workshop. This hands-on, full day course will teach you how to make a box book suitable for journaling or sketching on the move. Using simple sewing frames, coloured tapes and ribbons, you will make a multi section book with a watercolour paper cover. You will also make a traditional board box to contain your book. 5 places only, £45 per person. Please email email@example.com to book a place.
National Gardens Scheme Open Afternoon
We are opening the garden for our annual charity afternoon on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May (2.00-5.30pm). The National Gardens Scheme organises special open days of private and public gardens, and the proceeds raised support caring and nursing charities. The studios of Heather Hunter and award winning photographer Paul Wilkinson will both be open to explore and don’t miss delicious home made teas and cakes to support Christian Aid. Home grown plants and greetings cards will be for sale, as well as the book that tells the story of Turn End “A Garden & Three Houses”.
