There are just a few places left on our forthcoming horticulture workshops this summer.
On 25 July join Jackie Hunt, Dawn Meadows (Turn End’s current & former gardeners) and horticulture tutor Lindsay Engers for our new workshop: Selecting and Caring for Plants. Using Turn End gardens as our classroom, we shall introduce the principles of how to grow happy plants. We shall look for good examples of plants for different environments, identify soil types, explore key principles of growing plants well and identify a range of pests, diseases and other problems in the garden. Participants are welcome to bring along questions about their own plant problems!
On 15 August join the team for an Introduction to Propagation. We shall explore some easy methods to propagate your own garden plants at home including seed sowing, division, hardwood, softwood and semi-ripe cuttings. We shall also demonstrate and discuss some more usual methods such as layering and leaf cuttings. You will be able to practice taking semi-ripe cuttings to take home.
Each workshop runs 10.00am-1.00pm. Places cost £20 and include morning drinks and useful handouts to take away. To book a place, please contact our Events Organiser on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07591 018601.
