Our Midsummer Night’s Tour with Jackie Hunt, Turn End’s gardener, is now sold out.
But there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the garden this summer.
Until Sunday 25 June the studios of Heather Hunter and Jean Mould Hart and Paul Wilkinson Photography are open to visit, free of charge. During your visit to the studios you are welcome to explore the gardens at Turn End for a small donation between 10.00-5.00. Find out more about the studios (number 166 and 168) at the Bucks Open Studios website.
On Sunday 25 June (14.00-18.00), Jackie will be opening her own garden (next door, 9 Townside) as part of Age Concern’s Haddenham Open Gardens. Tickets cost £5 and there are 12 very different gardens to explore, including the village allotments. Buy your tickets, collect your map and enjoy teas and cakes at the Scout and Guide Centre.
On Tuesday 15 August (10.30-13.30) Jackie will also be running a friendly, informal and hands on propagation by cuttings workshop with horticulturalist and Turn End’s garden adviser, Lindsay Engers. We will explore and practice various techniques of taking cuttings, with plenty of material for you to take home and grow on. Bring along your questions and any plants you would like to know how to propagate. £25.00. Booking required.
Both the house and garden will be open to explore on Monday 28 August (14.00-17.30). Meet Margaret and Peter Aldington and ask them how they created Turn End. Teas and cakes for sale. £15 (Friends of Turn End free, children free). Tickets on the gate, no booking required.
