An afternoon and talk on Modern Houses with Dr Alan Powers: Saturday 2nd September, 14.30-17.30

If you have a passion for modern architecture, come and meet Alan Powers, Trustee and former Chairman of the Twentieth Century Society and hear his unique take on the Modern House: both ‘Smooth’ and ‘Hairy’!


Alan writes and lectures on art, architecture and design, mainly of the twentieth century. He has specialised in the history of the private house in the Modernist period, and was the author of ‘Twentieth Century Houses in Britain’, as well as ‘Aldington, Craig and Collinge’. He grew up in a smooth Modern house designed by his father but has lived in a Georgian one in London for nearly 35 years.
